How to setup Microsoft Access database connection

Connecting a Microsoft Access database to the Ozeki 10 is beneficial because it expands the usability of bulk messaging. You could store your contacts or your messages in a database, which means it could be edited or reviewed anyone you wish. In this tutorial we will show you how you could connect a Microsoft Access database with Ozeki 10. We will use an MSAccess connection to do so. It is an easy to follow, step-by-step guide.

Step 1 - Create new database connection

The first step is to find the Create new Connection button and click it. It will take you to the Connection details page, where you can setup a new connection. You can see the button on Figure 1.

If the Microsoft Office (including Access) has not been installed to the pc on which the Ozeki Bulk Messenger runs yet, you need to install the Microsoft Access Runtime program, which provides the connection between the Ozeki Bulk Messenger and the Microsoft Access database.

Step 3 - Database connection details

There are two possible ways for giving the details: you can give the data below the General menu, or you can give the connection string below the Advanced menu. In case you give the connection string, it overwrites the data given below the General menu.

In this example we give the connection string under the General menu:

  • Provider's type: Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0
  • The file which contains the database: D:\OzekiBulkMessenger.accdb
