Text to Speech engine

You can add the Microsoft's speech engine as a connection. This makes you able to generate computer voice from text messages routed through Ozeki 10, which is the best choice to route messages between multiple connections. You can always add new runtime languages to the Microsoft Speech Platform. In Ozeki 10 you can set the language and test the connection.

In this tutorial you will see how to add the connection and how to make a test by routing messages to it. This is how you can convert incoming SMS -s, E-mails, Ozeki Chat messages or even detected colors to voice messages. Use your imagination to route any connection you can find in Ozeki 10's connection list.

Keep in mind that you can connect your speaker to either your Ozeki 10 server or browser client, which can be many different devices like laptops, PC -s or tablets. The only requirement is that the machine with a speaker must have an internet connection with a webbrowser, which is how Ozek 10's GUI can be used.

Follow these steps

STEP 1: Start your Robot Controller application
STEP 2: Create a Text to Speech connection
STEP 3: Route another connection to it

Prerequisites

  • A speaker or headphone
  • Ozeki 10 installed on your computer
  • Microsoft Speech Platform runtime installed

STEP 1: Start your Robot Controller application

After logging into Ozeki 10 you can start your Robot Controller application (Figure 2).

start ozeki robot controller

STEP 2: Create a Text to Speech connection

After Ozeki Robot Controller starts you can find a 'Connect' icon on the toolbar. Click it and then the big blue 'Create new Connection' button and finally the 'Audio' icon (Figure 3).

You can choose from multiple voice option, select 'Text to speech' to continue (Figure 4).

Since Microsoft Speech Platform is already installed on your Ozeki 10's machine, please choose 'Server' (Figure 5).

Finally confirm the connection details. You can leave the name as it is, select the audio device provided by your operating system and choose the language of the voice plus the gender (Figure 6).

select connection name, device, voice type

STEP 3: Route another connection to it

Routing is the easiest way to forward messages to any other Ozeki 10 connection you prefer.

Start Control Panel to create your route (Figure 7).

run control panel of ozeki 10

Click 'Routes' on the left side toolbar of the Control Panel and route a connection to Text to Speech (Figure 8).

From now on the Text to Speech connection will play all incoming texts through your speaker or headphone. Keep in mind that every connection in Ozeki 10 can send or receive text messages and the routing table forwards these messages.
