Building robot hardware
Modern robot prototypes are made from metal and plastic. For metalic parts we recommend aluminium, because it is a light and easy to work with. For plastic 3D printed parts from PLA and laser cut parts from plexiglass or other similar plastic sheets can be used.
How to design a 3D object
First you need to acquire a CAD software to design the 3D object of your dreams. Before designing think about the printed material and consider that your design will lay on a flat surface. Then you can start creating the object in 3D.

How to convert a CAD file to a gcode
Then you need to convert your CAD file to a gcode with a slicer software. This gcode is then uploaded to your printer. The uploading method depends on the type of the printer (wireless, SD card, USB cable etc.)
